Cookies, similar technologies & consent

Cookie Policy

How Align & Abroad and third parties use cookies and similar technologies — and how you stay in control of your choices.

What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels — small pieces of code that load from third-party servers. They can remember your preferences, help us understand how the site is used, and support advertising.

How consent works

  • ✦On your first visit we show a cookie banner with three clear choices: Accept all, Reject optional, and Manage preferences.
  • ✦Optional categories (Analytics, Marketing & Advertising) are OFF until you turn them on. Nothing is ever preselected.
  • ✦Scrolling, continued browsing, or closing the banner is never treated as consent — only an explicit choice counts.
  • ✦Your choice is stored on your device, so you will not be asked again on your next visit.
  • ✦You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent stops optional tracking going forward and does not affect your ability to use the website.

Necessary (always on)

These are required for the website to function and cannot be turned off. They include the sign-in session that keeps your customer portal secure, and the storage of your cookie consent choice itself. The consent record is kept in your browser's local storage and contains only your category choices, the date and time of your choice, and the version of the consent notice — no identifying information.

Analytics (optional — off until you consent)

  • ✦Google Tag Manager (container ID GTM-NHJMP3SM) — a tag management system used to run measurement tags that help us understand how visitors use the website.
  • ✦Information involved: the pages you view, how you found us, the type of device and browser you use, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and how you interact with the site.

Marketing & Advertising (optional — off until you consent)

  • ✦The Meta Pixel (Pixel ID 2524030828087591) from Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook / Instagram). It loads only after you consent to this category.
  • ✦Purpose: measuring the effectiveness of our advertising, building audiences for our ads, and showing you personalized (retargeted) advertising on Meta's platforms.
  • ✦Information involved: your IP address, browser and device information, the pages you visit and when you visit them, and — if you provide your email address to us (for example when purchasing a report or contacting us) — a hashed (irreversibly scrambled) version of it through Meta's Automatic Advanced Matching, which helps match website activity to your Meta account.
  • ✦The Pixel sets the _fbp cookie on your device. Meta may combine this information with other data it holds about you. For details, see Meta's Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy

Managing your choices

Use the "Cookie Settings" link in the website footer to open your preferences at any time and turn each category on or off. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect site functionality such as staying signed in to the customer portal.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date below shows when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we will ask for your consent again with an updated version of the notice.
